With over a decade of dedicated service in St. Landry Parish Schools, Ms. Angela Alfred brings a wealth of experience, passion, and leadership to her new role as Administrative Assistant at Sunset Middle School.
Ms. Alfred began her educational career at Southwest Elementary. She went on to serve at Opelousas Middle before making a lasting impact at Sunset Middle, where she taught for four years before transitioning into administration. Her classroom experience spans grades 1 through 8, and her instructional approach is rooted in adaptability, student-centered learning, and equity.
She holds a masterâs degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Reading and Literacy from LSU-Shreveport, as well as a specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Liberty University. Ms. Alfred is currently pursuing her doctorate in Educational Leadership, with an anticipated completion in Spring 2027.
A former Teacher of the Year at Southwest Elementary (2016), Ms. Alfred has also served as 504 Chairperson and has been an active member of multiple leadership committees. Her commitment to fostering inclusive, engaging, and collaborative school environments reflects her belief in the power of community and student empowerment.
Ms. Alfredâs vision is rooted in building strong connections among students, families, and staff to ensure success for all learners.
